How To Commit To A New Relationship With Yourself Series

How To Commit To A New Relationship With Yourself Series

Finding Your Inner Truth

The term “Inner Truth” may have a different meaning depending on the topic of conversation. For this conversation, it means to focus on your deep inner-self. That part of you that you are afraid to reveal because of what others may think. Maybe even afraid to reveal to yourself because of what you yourself may think.

In consequence, if you are not truthful to yourself then you will not be able to discover your core values nor will you be able to freely become who you want to become. And to succeed at the things you want to accomplish.

I found a remarkable book that really helped me get past myself and further my relationship with myself. I highly recommend you read it.

The Book That Helped Me Further My Relationship With Myself

This book is hard to find, but I found it on Barnes and Noble’s website. Keep in mind you do not need to be spiritual to read this book, you may or may not believe in prayers. Focus on what the words are telling you. I promise it is amazing!!! I want to live by this book. Granted I haven’t finished reading it. This book is “the book” that has helped me to realize my self-worth. It is a small book and an easy read! Format: paperback/ebook. The book is called, Prayers: A communion with our creator by don Miguel Ruiz.

Below is an example of a prayer from the book. Each chapter dives into deeper teachings. I cannot recommend this book enough for everyone.

Start Taking Better Care Of Yourself

I have a post (coming soon) that will share how to satisfy your basic needs. It is important to focus on your basic needs daily because they will help to keep you out of a negative/anxious state of mind. It will keep you, hopefully, from reaching for your addictions after a much longer healing time. When I am tired, hungry, lacking a shower or exercise, or if am under the weather, everything in my body changes including my mood. I am more exposed and vulnerable in every way such as getting hurt, doubting myself and others, making bad choices such as reaching for addiction (for me its sugar) and freezing my progress and success.

I have found that by satisfying my basic needs daily that I have increased everything from my health, my mindstate, my energy, etc. Take good care of yourself and nurture your whole self.

If you feel out of place or unusual, go back to bed, or tend to a different need. Supporting your basic needs daily will keep you from having a bad day on most days.

Plus, if you are caring for yourself, you can then be strong for those who need you to be strong for them, even though, they should be doing the same for themselves.

Start Talking To Yourself Better

It’s time for you to start talking to yourself with love. I Can Love Myself! You Can Love Yourself Too!

Is it easy? Yes and no. It is all about practice. It’s easy because you can say anything you want, but it’s hard because you have to believe it. You might not believe it at first, but if you practice, turn it into a habit, it will then become easy and you will start to believe it.

Growing up we let the words that others chose for us become us. Between our peers, parents, and society, we have learned how we “should” behave or “should” think and treat others and ourselves. You no longer need to think like that. You now get to choose the words and actions for yourself. But first, think long and hard because our actions come with consequences. Now think about how you want others to treat you, and start treating yourself that way.

If you want others to think you are beautiful, start calling yourself beautiful. If you want others to see you as honest and caring or selfless, start making choices and talking to yourself as if you already are. Create affirmations for yourself and say them daily, such as “I am beautiful” or “I value my opinions and belief”. Keep saying them until you automatically behave as you believe them. Another option is to give yourself a Mantra (A statement or slogan repeated frequently like, “I’ve got this”.). Change your mantra and affirmations as you grow.

Allow Others To Follow Suit And Lead By Example

You cannot make these choices for others, as no one can make them for you. However, as I have done by writing this post, you can lead by example!

If this post is helpful to you, feel free to share “How To Commit To A New Relationship With Yourself Series” or any of the posts within this series with your loved ones. Share how it has helped you and your story. Your story is enough to encourage others to find their own happiness. Sharing your story is how you lead by example.

Become Your Own Supporter and Provider

You need to be the one providing for yourself and supporting yourself because only you have the vision. The vision may be who you wish to become or how you wish to live your life, etc. It is different for everyone and no one else can see the big picture like you can.

Think about what you want in life, write about it in your All About Me journal, and then create a vision board for your wall with all of the details of things you will change and accomplish. Place it somewhere close by in a place you will pass more than once daily. I also want you to dream big and create yourself a vision statement (what you do) and a mission statement (what you want to be and become) for yourself. Each will motivate you and keep you on track because it will remind you of your vision and purpose. You do not need to share it, but here is mine for Nurturing Her Roots (Mission and Vision Statement).

Also, consider buying a really nice planner. You can build your own and purchase everything at either Michaels craft store or staples office supply store and decorate it with motivational stickers, or whatever you’d like. It’s become a really helpful tool for my life, and I hope you give it a try. A planner will help you to become more organized with your time, and you will learn how to prioritize better too. It is great for keeping track of and checking off your daily needs too.

The proof is here within NurturingHerRoots

If you are reading this, I have chosen to love myself and to create a new and improved relationship within myself. I was so fearful to share my love for NurturingHerRoots that I could not make it public, that fear would negatively affect me so badly that I created physical and mental anxiety within myself. I did that. If you are reading this, I am now my new supporter and provider. I take pride in doing great things for family and friends, it’s about time I took pride in how I care for and treat myself too. I am an example of the advice I am sharing with you. You can have this too!

Become An Example So Others Can Love Themselves Too

If you can change for yourself, maybe your friends and family will start loving and caring for themselves, and together you can show by example to your children and grandchildren (when that time comes), how they can love themselves as well. I am tired of living in a backward world. My health story is saved for another day, that too is backward. Let’s lead by example and together we can try and make a difference in how people in the world see themselves and once again fight for their lives in a positive way.

Create a Pledge And Commit To Yourself

Create one for yourself so that it becomes real. A pledge that reminds you to take action instead of hanging back and being fearful and finding excuses. You will then have a reminder and a new relationship to hold with yourself because it’s your life. Only you will decide how you live it, only you will decide what brings you joy and happiness and only you will decide who can take it away from you.  If you don’t follow through, you then have a reminder for yourself for when you are ready to try again in the future. You will be the only one to gain from this, and you will only hurt yourself if you do not follow through. You’ve got this, love yourself and be kind to yourself.

If you get tired, learn to rest, do not give up!

Happy Nurturing,
Amanda

About Me

About Me

Hey There, I'm Amanda

As of November of 2016, I became gluten and dairy free. Before my big change, I was a pastry chef for 3 years, a cake decorator 3 years before that, and a passionate baker during my high school years. I ate cake and desserts like anyone else, and ate anything as I pleased. Little did I know, many of my health issues were related to my diet and lifestyle. I knew something was wrong, and that something had to change. The moment my back gave out, my whole life changed as if I was destined for greater things. Now, I believe in my wellness as a whole being, and I plan to share It with you. I have a lot of unusual experiences, and I have a very unique mentality.
