Why Nurturing Her Roots?

Why Nurturing Her Roots?

Why Nurturing Her Roots? Roots are grounding, we are then nurturing our roots in an effort to become more grounded, interconnected, and steady with intentions of growth and healthy living.

It All Began With Roots

What do you think of when you see or hear the word roots? I think of something that grows, something that binds, and something that builds strength. It reminds me of nourishment, Mother Nature, and God. Roots are grounding. Everything ties back to our personal roots: ancestry, upbringing, diet, and lifestyle. Learning about yourself is the first step to seeking out wellness.

If we are nurturing ourselves, we are also nurturing our roots in an effort to become more grounded, interconnected, and steady with the intention of promoting and living a healthy life.

Roots in Nature

Consider a flower before it is planted, like the ones you buy in those thin black plastic containers. If you flip it upside down and gently pull out the plant, one of two things will happen: either the plant will pop out whole or the dirt will fall to the ground and expose the roots. If the dirt falls, the flower is not ready to be planted. Perhaps it isn’t finished developing, or maybe it just needs more nourishment. However, if the flower comes out intact, you’ll notice that the roots intertwine nicely, meaning that the plant is strong and healthy, ready to be planted.

Even after a flower is planted, if there is something wrong with its appearance, you can still look back to the roots to heal it, nourish it, and grow it stronger. Roots are the source of everything.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”
“When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.”

But Why ‘HER’ Roots?

While my goal is to help others find what works for them, this website and blog is about me and what worked for me in my journey. This site is like a journal in which I am sharing a part of myself with you. It is a place where I can connect to myself, and to you, and encourage positive energy.

But It’s Really About You

Nurturing Her Roots will tell you a lot about what works for me, but it will also share posts, people, recipes, and quotes that can inspire you. I will provide you tips and reviews on lifestyle, my own experiences, and information that I wish I had known when I first started nurturing myself – all to help you discover your way into your journey.

You Are Not Alone

This may be your journey, but you can take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. By sharing my experiences, I hope that you will not compare yourself to me, but rather find hope that you can find your way too. We are in this together as a community, and we can learn from each other’s experiences and help each other to grow.

When I first started my journey, I wanted to see what worked for other people so that I could try them for myself. We look to others who have succeeded for guidance, and I want to be that for you. I want to help you avoid making the mistakes that I made (though mistakes are okay).

But remember, you can be your own role model:

“If you are still searching for that person who will change your life, look in the mirror.”

Happy Nurturing,
Amanda

About This Site

Nurturing Her Roots is a Food and Lifestyle Blog about Holistic Wellness. “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” I am powerless when it comes to changing others, but I am POWERFUL in that I can change myself. You can do the same. “When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind”. Learn about my recipes, essential oils, and other blog topics. Nurturing Her Roots is simply a guide to my own happiness, but maybe it will help you to find your happiness too.

About Me

About Me

Hey There, I'm Amanda

As of November of 2016, I became gluten and dairy free. Before my big change, I was a pastry chef for 3 years, a cake decorator 3 years before that, and a passionate baker during my high school years. I ate cake and desserts like anyone else, and ate anything as I pleased. Little did I know, many of my health issues were related to my diet and lifestyle. I knew something was wrong, and that something had to change. The moment my back gave out, my whole life changed as if I was destined for greater things. Now, I believe in my wellness as a whole being, and I plan to share It with you. I have a lot of unusual experiences, and I have a very unique mentality.
