Learn To Value Your Body and Its Mechanics To Prolong A Happier Life
Your body needs you to be your best mechanic. Education is your best tool; pick it up and drive.
Just Think About How Many Cars Each Individual Goes Through In A Lifetime
Most people have more than one car in their lifetime. We get new ones when…
- A car accident occurs
- The car is traded in for a better-looking one
- The owner does not care for the small inconvenient tasks, and the car seizes up
- The car is traded in because the owner says it’s of inconvenience to maintain an older car
- The owner cannot keep up with the repairs due to “money issues”
- The car is run into the ground at the end of its age
Think about it: how many cars have you owned?
How Would You Feel If You Could Only Have One Car In Your Lifetime?
Most people know the basics of car maintenance: Maintain the oil, keep it clean inside and out, put air in the tires and gas in the tank, and check the engine. There are many things that are necessary to keep the car in great condition.
The same is true for our bodies.
Caring for Your Body Like You Would a Car
Someone once told me that changing the car’s motor oil is similar to changing a baby’s diaper. There are always consequences to passing up simple inconvenient tasks. Every little detail matters in the long run. The same can be considered for our bodies. We’ll get back to this in a moment.
Now imagine how important your car would be if you were limited to only one car in your lifetime, and if you lose this car, you die. So you better take care of it. This is your body.
Don’t Know How to Care for a Car?
We all know the basics of car maintenance: change the oil, put air in the tires and gas in the tank, keep it clean, and change the windshield wiper fluid. But what if you have a serious problem? Could you fix that?
Most likely you couldn’t and would turn to a professional or someone else for advice. Not many people are capable of maintaining and repairing the function of their car themselves. So you find a mechanic and hope they’re trustworthy. But let’s face it: trustworthy mechanics are hard to find. You could be used for money or end up with more problems so that you can come back to them more often. Some mechanics may be less educated or make mistakes no matter how good they are.
So I ask again, how would you feel if you could only have one car in your lifetime? I can imagine that you would want to prolong its life as long as possible and that you would want to learn everything about that car to be sure that no one else is to mess it up. Education is a better mechanic. With knowledge, you could ask the right questions because only you would know your car.
The same is true for your body. And you do only get one of those.
Education Is A Better Mechanic
The best thing for you to do is to educate yourself to the best of your ability, to know you have done everything possible to keep your one way of transportation safe and healthy. Think of your body like the only car you’ll ever have. You may not be a doctor, and you will not know everything. You simply do your best, learn what you can, cover your bases, and let professionals do the rest.
But where do you start?
